I'd like to know what the top speed is when KB has that thing wide open.

I guess it’s probably limited to the gearing, but I assume it’s lot faster than the Rallycross cars.

Same. I wouldn't be surprised it it was <100 mph.

If it’s trad rally car I wouldn’t expect more than say 130mph but 845hp could be more

You won't be able to resist watching it once. Resistance will be futile.

Do you happen to know what KB's Fiesta tops out at? I've often wondered that.

I would have guessed 90. But what do I know? And like 550 HP in that little car? Yikes.

In rallycross trim it has about 600 horse, in rally trim it’s 350. Same approximate top speed for both setups because of the gearing.

Which trim would he use for Gymkana?

Gymkhana at the very least. Might even adjust the intake restrictor for even more power

I’m not the hugest rally fan, which is in no way a statement that I somehow don’t
like
it. But I experience an emotional response when I watch Ken Block shred tires on a hard-surfaced course. Same with Danny McCaskill when I watch him ride a bicycle. I think Ken Block’s Mustang is the coolest car I’ve ever laid eyes on and when the GoPro shows the rods working the throttle stack, I could literally weep. I am seriously not kidding. I think that why I don’t really “click” with rallying is the ever present fear of hitting a tree. I guess I’m kind of risk averse.

That’s fair. Trees are scary

I was thinking about it some more. I’m 51 and I’m not going to be able to acquire very many more talents in my adult life before I begin to was old. I was just watching your recent post of the rally driver on the snow. That all seems so totally inaccessible to me. Now, developing minimal skill at drifting a car in parking lot, I might be able to do some day, and I could even be old. And there wouldn’t be very many trees in a parking lot.
